A quick rummage through Google found an XDA Developers Forum thread. I was back to the plain old Fire launcher again. It no longer even appeared in the list of apps.

This morning on starting my Fire HD 10, I found a pop-up message saying LauncherHijack had been blocked on this deviceand indeed, even after a reboot, it was no longer working. Using any launcher, other than your chosen launcher, and open you chosen launcher like any other app, this should open your chosen launcher. There are no alternatives to FastKey Launcher listed in the database but we found some apps with similar tags and they might be relevant alternatives.
